How to motivate students!
In many cases, students are not able to perform well because they are not very well motivated to study their subjects and hence, are not able to perform well. Here are a few of the ways you could encourage and motivate students to study better and get better grades in their exams.
Give them a sense of control: The student should feel that he or she is able to control his or her grades by simply studying well or not studying at all. The teacher must guide the students in such a way that the student realizes that only he or she can change the future of his grades and not the teacher!
Offer rewards: Students should sometimes be offered certain rewards for performing well. But this should only be restricted to a few times or the students will work only when the reward is being offered. This reward theory improves the efficiency of the student.
Positive competition: Competition can be both good and bad. In class when students are competing, they also try to lower their opponent’s performance, this is called bad competition. When they try to improve themselves, this is known as good competition. Students should be motivated to work hard and perform better!
Praise the student: it is not a bad thing to praise the student when he or she has performed well. The student likes it when the teacher praises the student and it motivates them to perform better. Use these techniques in order to motivate your students!
