Performing Meditation in 3 Easy Steps
Meditation is widely practiced all over the world as an activity that helps to improve your level of concentration and keep you calm from within. The more you meditate, the more will you be able to connect with your inner self. To meditate in a successful manner, you need to take three essential steps.
The first step that you need to take is to find a quiet place in the house where you can meditate for a few minutes. You need to make sure that this is a place which is completely free from interruptions and distractions. Meditation requires you to engage in an intense level of concentration and you cannot afford to do it in a room that has your mind wandering.
Once you have sought out a quiet corner where you can perform meditation, you need to switch off the lights in the room and sit in a relaxed posture. You can sit on the bed, on a chair or even on the floor. What is important is to be sitting in a relaxed state.
Close your eyes and slowly, and very gently, push away all the thoughts that come to your mind. Try to envision a black circle or a white resplendent circle and direct your concentration towards it. Do this for two to three minutes to begin with. Once you are able to focus your mind for more than three minutes, increase the meditation time to five minutes and then gradually to ten. Breathe in and out while you meditate and try to detect the pace of your breath.
